This guidance is not specific to any ambulance service trust or other agency, and you must ensure you adhere to your own training and scope of practise.

As such any deviation from your trust or service's direct training reflected in the guidelines needs to be discussed with a clinician and/or supervisor within your trust, service, force or scheme. The guidelines are advisory only and have been developed to help emergency responders in decision making. They are not a suitable alternative for sound clinical judgement. The guidelines cannot always contain all the information necessary for determining appropriate care and cannot address all individual situations. Therefore, individuals using these guidelines must ensure they have the appropriate knowledge and skills to enable suitable interpretation.
